The American team - Regan Smith (backstroke), Kate Douglass (breaststroke), Gretchen Walsh (butterfly), and Torri Huske (freestyle) - combined for a winning time of 3 minutes 49.34 seconds, slicing 0.29 seconds off the previous record of 3:49.63 set by the U.S. at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Australia - featuring Kaylee McKeown, Ella Ramsay, Alexandria Perkins, and Mollie O'Callaghan - took silver in 3:52.67, while China - with Peng Xuwei, Tang Qianting, Zhang Yufei, and Cheng Yujie - claimed the bronze in 3:54.77.
